My passion for art and fashion began at a very young age, I stubbornly decided to never wear my older sisters hand me downs and made a point to have an individual style. I loved styling different accessories to match the outfits my mother would lay out for me in the morning, I experimented with scarves, jewellery, hats, bags and hairstyles to showcase my personality early on. On holiday at the age of 4 I was called ‘Miss Fashion’ when wearing one of my adventurous outfits. Each night as a child I would go to bed with various fashion books and sketchbooks to put to paper my imagination. My bedroom today doesn’t look too different to how it did when I was younger, expect now I have real life designer brands plastered on my walls as opposed to the sketches I’d done as a child.

I struggled with school and the institution I felt I was trapped in. I hated the maths lessons and the fact I was forced to learn subjects I had no interest in, this quickly confirmed my desire to learn more and focus wholly on the arts and fashion world. I left school at the age of 14 and was home schooled for around 3 months while I figured out what I could do to complete my studies. I went to CCSS and completed 3 GCSEs which was all I needed to go to CSVPA where I learnt that there were other qualification routes to go down other than the standard GCSEs and A Levels which my peers and siblings were completing. I started an art diploma and loved it, I grew a passion for screen printing and using a heat press which are now integral to my business and manufacturing my t-shirts which I still do manually. I made a very close friend at CSVPA who had told me about an Italian Art School based in Spitalfields called Instituto Marangoni. After researching it, I decided to enrol and complete my art diploma in replacement for A Levels. I started going to raves and making the most of the London music scene, I obviously was underage to had to use my sisters ID and changed my instagram to ‘stupid’ Jones in case they questioned why my name was Tallulah on socials, this is how the name stuck. It was not only an iconic name that now remains the name of my brand but also a nod to the institution and people who coined me as ‘stupid’ for not fitting the regular school mould. After Marangoni, I got into UAL Central Saint Martins to complete an undergrad degree in Fashion Communication which was my absolute dream since leaving school. I started Stupid Jones (the brand) in 2020 during the pandemic, I began with screen printing on thrifted second hand clothing. I then had my biggest break when I released the Kitty tee, named after my sister, which was the iconic orange face printed onto a baby tee. I got a heat press for Christmas and then was able to start printing more of my designs on tops to sell. My mum has been a huge influence and massive part of my brand who has ultimately helped me get to where I am today, so I am very thankful to her. Finally, my main point to take from my brand is to be FUCKING NICE!! Everyone has their own story and I hope that you all follow me along to see what come next on my journey! Thank you all for supporting me to this day xx
